The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur are organizing panel session on the topic of Reducing transport externalities. The event is an Indo-German initiative for smart cities.
The session will focus on global urbanization trends and challenges, such as climate change and increasing road safety fatalities, force us to rethink how we organize our cities in a resilient and sustainable way. In this event we will explore recent research solutions from India and Germany in the field of Smart Cities, with a specific emphasis on reducing transport externalities. A specific point of interest will be the treatment of multimodal transport and the interactions and synergies of passenger and freight transportation. Technological, social and policy directions will be discussed by the expert panelists, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
