Technology Transfer - A New Dimension in the Internationalization of Universities?
Besides teaching and research, promoting knowledge and technology transfer is a key task for German universities. While teaching and research internationalization is well established, the international aspect of technology transfer and spin-offs is slowly gaining attention.
In this panel discussion at the DAAD Netzwerkkonferenz 2024, experts from transfer centers, professors as well as university leadership will explore the internationalization of technology transfer, focusing on entrepreneurship and academic spin-offs. Key questions include: What role can technology transfer play in university internationalization? Why is early access to international innovation hubs crucial for entrepreneurs? How important is collaboration with global partners for university incubators and innovation centers?
The discussion will also address how the German Centers for Research and Innovation (DWIHs) support German universities and research institutions in internationalization of science-based entrepreneurship and start-ups.
