Applications invited for professorship of “Anthropology of South Asia”
The Faculty of Behavioural and Cultural Studies at Heidelberg University invites applications for the Professorship of “Anthropology of South Asia” (f/m/d), starting in the Summer Term 2026. The position is located in the South Asia Institute (SAI), Heidelberg University at the Centre of Asian and Transcultural Studies (CATS).
The committee will consider applications from both established scholars and excellent early career researchers in the post-doc phase. The candidates are also expected to have demonstrated disciplinary expertise in anthropology of South Asia, research competence in at least one South Asian language, and knowledge of German language or willingness to learn.
