Workshop on Contemporary Populism in Germany and India: Issues and Perspectives

Populism seems to be constantly changing, adapting to the societal and political circumstances. The University of  Goettingen has organized a workshop that discusses contemporary populism and tries to draw some broad lessons on populisms´causes, forms, and consequences. They invite young scholars from India to share their perspectives and to discuss how populism has changed politics, media and society.

Papers from political science, sociology and related social sciences that address the topic in a rigorous scientific manner are invited. In the workshop, an interdisciplinary, international approach will be followed. They will discuss each paper on its own terms, but also bring the papers into a dialogue with each other.
