Postdoc Position to Study Neuroplasticity Related to Visual Impairments in Humans
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) is seeking a post-doctoral scientist with an interest in experimental research in neuroplasticity in humans, for a joined research project of the Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology lab (BPN) of the University of Hamburg (Germany) and the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad (India).
Candidates will have a Ph.D. in an experimentally working natural science including neuroscience, psychology, visual science, biology. We expect experience in conducting experiments in humans including a good understanding of programming. Prior experience in either human electrophysiological or brain imaging techniques would be welcome, but is not mandatory. A high proficiency in oral and written English is required. The research project comprises behavioral, electrophysiological and brain imaging studies in humans with visual impairments, and is to be conducted at the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad (India) and associated centers. Tasks comprise recruitment of participants, conducting experimental studies, data analysis and publication of research findings. Moreover, the postdoc will coordinate the project within the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute and its centers. Funding for research visits at the University of Hamburg and participation in international conferences or summer schools will be provided.
The start date will be decided by mutual agreement, but the positions will be filled as soon as possible. The contract will be issued by the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute. The salary is set based on the available qualification. The current project will end in 2025.
