The German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi is a network of 25 German research organisations, universities, funding bodies, and research-based companies.

It is part of a global network of six Centres which is overseen by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

DWIH New Delhi promotes the German research landscape in India and facilitates access to the Indian research and innovation ecosystem including funding and cooperation opportunities. It provides a platform for enhancing exchange cooperation and networking among Indian and German academic communities and stakeholders in research and innovation.

The German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi connects the German and Indian research and innovation ecosystems. It is a platform for thematic exchange and networking. It provides information and advice on the research landscapes, funding opportunities, international research cooperation and current developments in science policy. The DWIH has an interdisciplinary approach covering fundamental as well as applied research across science and humanities.

The DWIH New Delhi is a science diplomacy initiative of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office and is one of six centres worldwide. It is managed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and supported by 25 German research organisations, universities, funding bodies, and research – based companies.

The activities of the DWIH focus on current topical issues in the sciences and humanities and cover fundamental as well as applied research. Another objective is strengthening the academia-industry relationship and supporting young talent in research entrepreneurship. The DWIH engages in dissemination of information through its online channels and organises events in India covering a broad range of research topics.

In 2022, the activities of the DWIH New Delhi will be centred around the topic ‘Sustainable Innovations‘.
