Science Circle Lecture - Making a Difference in AI: Why India and Germany Should Be Partners?

Prof. Dr. Martin Hofmann-Apitius
Head of the Department of Bioinformatics, Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing (SCAI)
In Germany as well as in India, data protection and data silos impose a major limitation to AI-based approaches. The talk will focus on how the heterogeneity in the healthcare systems of Germany and India could be leveraged to validate AI-based models taking the example of personalized recommendations in oncology. How a strategic “data collaboration” between India and Germany could generate value beyond the health industry in the fields of agriculture, engineering, and mobility will also be sketched.
